Garden Watering Calculator in Litres

Convert a selected watering depth into litres for a known growing area, with prompts to adjust for rain and soil.

Make your plan

A conversion input, not a universal irrigation recommendation.

Your inputs are processed in this browser. Gardenar does not send or save these calculator entries.

How to use this tool

Garden area m²; watering depth mm; optional recent rainfall mm. Check the units and use measurements from the growing space or instructions for your actual crop or product.

What the result means

Estimated litres and equivalent watering-can fills. The result follows the inputs you provide; it does not replace inspection of your plants or the relevant product label.

Worked example

A target of 10 mm over 5 m² equals 50 litres. If 3 mm of useful rainfall has already reached that area, the net conversion is 35 litres, or 3.5 fills of a 10-litre can. Actual need must be judged from soil and crops.

Assumptions and limitations

Not personalised irrigation advice; check soil, plant stage and local restrictions. This tool uses explicit arithmetic and your inputs; it does not connect to weather, location, product or soil databases.

1 mm of water over 1 m² = 1 litre; net target can consider measured rainfall.
