Garden Area Calculator in Square Metres
Calculate the area of common garden shapes to plan compost, mulch, planting and other garden materials.
How to use this tool
Rectangle length/width; circle radius; triangle base/height; optional multiple zones. Check the units and use measurements from the growing space or instructions for your actual crop or product.
What the result means
Areas in m² and ft², plus a total for multiple shapes. The result follows the inputs you provide; it does not replace inspection of your plants or the relevant product label.
Worked example
A 3 × 2 m rectangle covers 6 m². A circle with radius 1 m covers about 3.14 m². A triangle with a 3 m base and 2 m perpendicular height covers 3 m². Add only separate, non-overlapping zones.
Assumptions and limitations
Explain measured approximations and path exclusions. This tool uses explicit arithmetic and your inputs; it does not connect to weather, location, product or soil databases.
Rectangle L×W; circle πr²; triangle 0.5×base×height.
